Tony has been snowboarding since 1998. After getting his qualification in the US, he visited New Zealand for the first time. He spent his first four years at Whakapapa training instructors as well as coaching the North Island’s first Development squad. He then moved to the South Island to train at Treble Cone after three years he finally settled at Coronet Peak where he currently trains.

Over the years Tony has been involved with many integral projects from helping develop resources such as the manuals, creating new certifications and exams. Tony has also served many years on the Snowboard Divisional Committee. Tony spends his Northern Hemisphere in Colorado where he manages Copper Snowboard School and is the AASI-RM Chief Examiner. Back in NZ Tony is a Level Three and Trainers Cert Examiner, Freestyle Examiner, and a Childrens Cert Examiner.  Tony is also on the US National Demo Team, and is on his second SBINZ Interski Demo Team.

Most people don’t know that Tony used to compete as a Freestyle Bumps Skier when at university in the States; he is also a fully-certified Ski Instructor – shhh! Don’t tell anyone.
