As President we had been invited to visit and be hosted by two Ski Resorts in China; Wanlong Paradise Resort, Chongli, and Yabuli Resort, Near Harbein. Both Snowsports schools have shown a lot of interest in using the NZSIA qualification pathway for their instructors.

Over the last year we have received many invitations to discuss the feasibility to run courses but it’s hard to gain any traction without meeting face to face the people that matter. So, here I am meeting the people that own the resorts, the Snowsports school directors, and even a Director General of the provincial Sports Administration.

As else where in the world we have close co-operation with Training Companies. In China, as I come to the end of this visit, this is even more important.

Hats off to Cardrona Resort and Rookie Academy for establishing training base agreements with Wanlong and Yabuli Resorts respectively!

The potential size of the Chinese Ski market is mind boggling. The welcome and hospitality we have received has been incredible.

Great to hear that Rookie Academy will be running our first ever Level 1 courses later this month.
