Bridget Legnavsky

Bridget LegnavskyCardrona Snowsports Manager.

Bridget started teaching skiing at Mt Dobson in 1989 as a University Student in an attempt to be able to afford to ski every weekend and holidays.

Since then she has taught in Japan, US, Italy and of course many seasons in New Zealand. Bridget has been fortunate enough to travel to many other international skiing destinations competing in Extreme Ski and Powder Eights competitions, as well as representing NZ at three different Interski Congresses in Norway, Switzerland and Korea.

She has been a member of the NZSIA demo team since the mid-nineties and is still a current member training towards the next Interski in St Anton, Austria. Bridget started examining in 1995 and was the Alpine Technical Director in the mid-2000s. During her time as Technical director she wrote the Alpine Instructors Manual. Bridget started one of New Zealand’s first instructor training programmes with the Otago Polytec in 1995 – which still runs successfully today and has been a pathway for many Kiwi skiers and snowboarders into the instructing industry.

In 2008 Bridget resigned after nine years as the NZSIA President. Currently she is the Snowsports Manager at Cardrona where she manages the Ski and Snowboard School, High Performance Centre and Instructor Training Centre, as well as her three-year old son Gustav!
