Snowboard Trainer for Cardrona
Another graduate of Happy Valley, Whakapapa, Lucien moved south in 2001 to train as a snowboard instructor in Wanaka, which is now his winter home. Since then he has taught both snowboarding and skiing, coached freestyle snowboarding and skiing, trained snowboard instructor programmes and examined for the SBINZ. His career has seen him at Winter Park, CO and Park City, UT in the USA and Cardrona in NZ.
Lucien is proud to be a part of the industry that has given him great working experiences and the opportunities to travel that many people can only dream of. The industry has allowed his family to stay close (the whole Gordon family can be found regularly at Snow Park and Cardrona), however living in the mountains does mean he misses the long walks on the beach and surfs at his childhood local break, Hot Water Beach.
Lucien strongly recommends to anyone who hasn’t – go try a DC snowboard. They are life changing!
