Telemark Course Director.
The only way Greg could get anyone to employ him was to employ himself; first as a Southland farmer then he opened Gore’s award winning Green Room Cafe. After the cafe (which seemed like too much standing around), he moved on – this time to Queenstown to start Fat Tyre Adventures mountain bike guiding company.
In the winter months Greg works as a winter guide/host. After 20yrs on alpine skis, and by this time with a seriously shagged knee, he finally found the ultimate winter sport and the freedom of movement that is telemark. This led him to instructing, examining and the Course Director role he has now – Greg’s finally found someone else to pay him. He also works part-time for nzski.com at Coronet Peak Ski School as their ‘tele guy’.
