About Us
We are a small, privately owned commercial ski area. During the season, we employ about 18 staff (this includes instructors employed by the Snow School); we pride ourselves on our small, friendly team – with everyone able and keen to pitch in and help wherever and whenever needed. We require a staff that are able to communicate well in English, as there is a lot of radio communication and clarity is essential. The mountain is a non-smoking zone for staff members.
When the mountain is open, everyone works. Days off occur when the mountain is closed due to snow/wind, and later in season some rostered days off may occur.
The nearest town is Fairlie, a very compact village that services the surrounding farm land. The only on-mountain accommodation is for the Couple on Mountain position. Staff need to obtain their own accommodation; rentals or inexpensive motels can usually be found in Fairlie.
