David had some fun free heeling around, which led to adding Telemark qualifications in 2009 to his level 3 ski, level 2 board and adaptive certs. The Wanaka builder has worked at Cardrona for 14 years after sitting his initial exams and working at Coronet.
Instructing in Canada and South Korea were both highlights. Dave’s drive comes from the stoke people get when they achieve something that they didn’t think they could.
A semi-handy competitor in sports, four World Cup Speed Skiing races lead to a highest finish of third, an Athletics NZ 100km National Champion in 2017, and a trip to Korea in 2018 to the World Firefighter’s Games lead to wins in the 800m, 1500m and 3000m Steeplechase.
