Cross Country Ski Level One Skate Technique Workshop
This workshop is open to all members and is designed for those that may sit the Cross Country Ski level one. The aim is to provide you with guidance so that you can have a clear understanding of the Level One requirements. It will also give you the opportunity to have training from examiners on your personal ski skills that will help give you a pathway for you to get more out of the Level One course towards a successful outcome.
Topics covered include:
- Basic Skate technique
- Marathon skate and ski gears for flat, uphill and downhill terrain
- Turning on cross country skate skis
- Error detection and correction
- The movements of cross country skate skiing to maintain balance and form
- Technical terminology
- Personal cross country skiing development

Pre-requisites:
- An associate member or full member of NZSIA
- At least 16 years of age at the start of this course
- Conversational level of English proficiency
- The ability to Cross Country Skate Ski at an intermediate standard or above. (Beginner/novice skiers may be considered if time allows for skill development prior to taking an exam – email nhski@nzsia.org to apply)
Upon completion of this course and the Cross Country Ski Level One Classic Workshop, you will then be eligible to progress to the Cross Country Ski Level One Certification
