In 2008, in an effort to delay university, Scott decided to give ski instructing a try. After training through the Otago Polytechnic Instructor Programme, he quickly fell in love with the job and turned it into a full-time career. Scott became a Ski Examiner in 2018 and an Adaptive Examiner in 2020. After several years chasing winter between North America and New Zealand, he developed a strong passion for adaptive snowsports and transitioned to full-time coaching in 2020 with Snow Sports New Zealand. Now based permanently in Wānaka, Scott continues to work with Snow Sports NZ, helping to grow and support competitive snow sports across the country.
