Growing up in the north island, travelling the then unsealed Gentle Annie from Hawke’s Bay most weekends, Fraser first learnt to ski at Tūroa, Mt Ruapehu. It was there where he eventually worked alongside the same instructors that had taught him to ski, before falling head first into the endless winter dream that led him to becoming an NZSIA examiner.
Working between New Zealand, Canada, Japan, and the USA, Fraser still attests to Tūroa having the best spring skiing worldwide. Now based at Cardrona x Treble Cone working as Training Supervisor for the Snow Sports School and Trainer for the Instructor Training Centre, it is his hope to provide opportunities for anyone and everyone to join the instructing industry and pass on his passion for teaching to others.
