I began teaching skiing in Australia in 1979. My first Full Certification was with the APSI in 1984. I was lucky enough to make great connections with European instructors which, led to seasons in Switzerland and Austria. 1991 was the year that I represented Australia at Interski in St Anton, Austria and the completion of the Austrian Full Certification (Staatlichter). In the 90s I started teaching in Colorado. All this time I was teaching in both hemispheres, and managed to spend 23 years effectively without a summer. Recently I have been teaching part-time in Japan.

Although I have been heavily involved with training ski instructors since 1986, I am still passionate about teaching regular students.

In 2002, I moved to Wanaka to take on the role of Snowsports manager at Treble Cone, after four years I switched to Cardrona, and have been there ever since.

In 2004 I passed the NZSIA Stage 2 and 3 years later, in 2007 I became an examiner with NZSIA.
