Works for: Cardrona-Treble Cone
Jon first learned to ski in 1985 in the UK, where he grew up. He became a qualified ski instructor in 2000 and has been teaching ever since. For over a decade, he followed the endless winter, spending summers in Europe and winters based in Wānaka, New Zealand, where he now lives year-round with his wife and two children.
In the Southern Hemisphere, Jon is based at Cardrona–Treble Cone, where he holds the role of Instructor Training and Development Manager. In this role, he works alongside a talented team of trainers and instructors to deliver a wide range of training sessions and support professional development across the Snowsports School. Jon has been a trainer with NZSIA since 2012 and is proud to have spent five years on the Ski Committee and to have represented New Zealand at Interski. He has also spent over a decade as a trainer for BASI, holding qualifications across several international systems. Over the years, Jon has trained instructors across nine countries and co-owned and ran a small ski school in the French Alps, where he was based for 12 winters.
These days, Jon enjoys spending the New Zealand summer exploring other activities and travelling to the Northern Hemisphere to run courses and exams.
