I began telemark skiing at the age of nine, and from the start, I was hooked. My best friend and I would free heel everything we could, taking our training seriously and entering competitions as soon as we were eligible. I competed in a range of events—from slopestyle to racing—but freeride quickly became my true passion. While telemark skiing remained my foundation, the limited opportunities in competitive telemark pushed me toward alpine events, ultimately earning a spot on the Freeride World Tour, where I competed from 2013 to 2016.

Though telemark took a back seat during those competitive years, it has always remained a central part of my identity and love for the mountains. I often return to it as a way to reset and reconnect—it’s a tool for both personal clarity and a lens through which I refine my alpine technique.

Today, I’m proud to serve as the Snowsports School Manager at the Madison Base in Big Sky, Montana, where there’s a long-standing tradition of the manager being a telemark skier—a tradition I’m honored to carry on. I’m also a PSIA Telemark Examiner and part of the NZSIA Alpine and Freestyle Examining Staff. As well as a member of the NZSIA Technical Team. Recently, I’ve joined the NZSIA Telemark Division and contributed to rewriting and digitizing the new telemark manual, a project that was both inspiring and rewarding. Being part of such a professional, forward-thinking team has reignited my passion for telemark in exciting new ways.

No matter what direction my snowsports career takes, my roots—and my heart—will always be in telemark skiing.
