Yolinde (a.k.a Yoyo) got into teaching skiing in 1995 at Treble Cone where she taught her first lesson after participating in the Rookie Weekend Programme through the Ski School. She thought it would be great a job as she wanted to look as “cool” as the Ski Instructors she saw skiing around the mountain.

Yolinde then went onto work in Queenstown at The Remarkables and Coronet Peak. This afforded her many opportunities, including being able to work in Switzerland, Canada and the US. She became an examiner in 2003 and made the move over to Cardrona to work for the High Performance Centre, training future instructors in 2007. She continues to work there as a full-time trainer, but now enjoys the opportunity to have summers also.

Above all of this, it was through teaching skiing that she met her husband, and fellow examiner, Mark Magill. This of course led to their gorgeous little baby boy (and future examiner extraordinaire!) Kezik.
