Winter is finally showing its face! With a fresh flurry of snow across the mountains this past week, the buzz is building and next week NZSIA courses kick off at resorts around the country.
In this month’s update, we’re sharing the final Constitution, confirming our President and Vice President roles, and announcing an exciting new Women’s Summit course now live on the calendar. There’s also an exclusive Outside Sports offer for members actively enrolled and prepping for their Level One or Two exams.
And if you’ve got a creative streak, don’t miss your chance to enter the NZSIA T-Shirt Design Competition – your art could end up on official merch (and score you a free membership for 2026!).
Read on for all the details!

Final Constitution Passed – A Message from the President

Dear NZSIA Members,

Thank you to all members who participated in the AGM and supported the constitutional review process. We’re pleased to announce that the new NZSIA Constitution has been formally adopted.

This is a significant step forward in modernising our governance structure and ensuring NZSIA is well-positioned for the future. The updated constitution reflects current best practices, improves clarity around Board roles, and supports greater transparency and accountability across the organisation.

We appreciate your engagement and support throughout the consultation process.

NZSIA President and Vice President Reappointed at AGM

We’re excited to confirm that Daniel Bogue and Claire Dooney will continue as NZSIA President and Vice President following the recent AGM.

With no additional nominations received during the board election period, both Dan and Claire stood unopposed, meaning no electronic vote was required this year. Their appointments were officially confirmed at the AGM.

Between their leadership on the hill and behind the scenes, we’re in great hands as we gear up for the implementation of our new constitution in 2026.

If you have any questions regarding the election process, please contact our Returning Officer, Priscilla Duff at admin@nzsia.org.

Still leading the charge, on and off the snow!

Lift Pass Reminder – What You Need to Know

NZSIA would like to remind members that we do not have direct access to lift ticket discounts in New Zealand or overseas.

If you’re attending a course, it’s important to organise your lift pass in advance and check with the resort directly regarding their pass options and pricing.

To apply:

  • Speak with your employer ahead of time about your upcoming course
  • Request a letter confirming your current employment
  • Bring your current NZSIA membership card when enquiring at the resort hosting your course

Be sure to organise this early to avoid any issues on the day.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to the resort directly or contact bookings@nzsia.org for general guidance.

That’s a Wrap
