NZSIA is looking for passionate, capable leaders to join us and help shape the future of snowsports in New Zealand. We have two exciting roles available: a General Manager to lead operations, and a New Independent Board Member to guide our strategic direction.

Role 1: General Manager

Step into a newly created leadership role with real scope to make an impact. This hands-on, operational role puts you at the heart of NZSIA, turning strategy into action, supporting a passionate team, and building strong connections across the snowsports community – nationally and internationally.

Location: Arrowtown (Hybrid) | 0.8 FTE, flexible

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead NZSIA programmes and services
  • Drive quality, consistency, and continuous improvement
  • Manage Course Managers, contractors, and admin teams
  • Oversee budgets and Board reporting
  • Build and maintain industry relationships

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven operational leadership experience
  • Strong financial and organisational skills
  • Confident working with a Board and multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent communicator and relationship-builder
  • Proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Bonus: experience in snowsports, outdoor recreation, or membership organisations

Role 2: New Independent Board Member

Join our Board to help guide NZSIA’s strategic direction and growth. Contribute your skills and experience to a purpose-driven organisation at the heart of NZ snowsports.

Location: Arrowtown (Hybrid) | Flexible commitment

We are seeking candidates with:

  • A clear understanding of roles and responsibilities at governance board level.
  • Proven board-level governance experience, ideally across multiple organisations
  • Strong financial capability, including the ability to interpret financial performance, risk, and sustainability
  • Experience contributing at a governance level to legal, regulatory, or compliance environments
  • A track record of contributing to governance maturity and board effectiveness
  • Experience supporting or overseeing senior executive leadership (e.g. CEO/GM)
  • Previous Chair or committee leadership experience is highly regarded

What you will bring:

  • Independent thinking and sound judgement
  • The ability to operate at a strategic level, with a clear understanding of the governance vs management boundary
  • Confidence to contribute, challenge, and support robust Board discussions
  • A collaborative approach and commitment to continuous improvement
  • A genuine affinity for the purpose of NZSIA and the role it plays in the snowsports community
